Government of Alberta: Tribunal Updates
Tribunal Updates: in a recent announcement, the government announced that, due to 2022 budgetary spending constraints and the current need to prioritise Alberta’s health system capacity, education, and economic recovery, including job creation, the Tribunal will not be going ahead at this time. The government has indicated its willingness to continue discussions with CCI South, CCI North and other stakeholder groups to develop a condominium tribunal that is affordable and effective.
The provisions from the 2014 Condominium Property Amendment Act were required to be repealed on December 31, 2021, as the provisions had remained unproclaimed for more than five years. The government has given its assurance that when the tribunal is ready to proceed, new amendments to the Condominium Property Act will be developed. CCI South will continue to advocate for our members and participate as a stakeholder in the development of a future tribunal.
